I'm Here!

Well it's now 3pm and I believe I can say I've officially arrived. My plane arrived in Tokyo around 9:30am and I whisked through customs to meet my guide from OMF, Kenton. Having dealt with high humidity and temperature in Malaysia I knew the first thing I had to do was get some fluids into me before I dehydrated. Obviously the Japanese understand the importance in replacing what you lose in perspiration which is whyI immediately purchased some Pocari sweat. The Pocari sweat label informs us that it has, "the appropriate density and electrolytes, close to that of body fluid"! So safe in the knowledge I was drinking back in the sweat I was shedding I couldcontinue on my journey.

I arrived safely at the OMF headquarters and was given a room. Kenton showed my around before we headed to the convenience store to buy some lunch. He bought a rice ball while I got a little boxed lunch called a "bento". I was enjoying eating a long piece of something I thought looked a little like celery when I thought to ask him what it was. I was eating what was quite likely octopus or squid. It was unexpected but I suppose I'll probably have to get used to eating food I might not be entirely sure of its origins.

I am now probably going to walk around the neighbourhood a little and perhaps take some photos. Although I don't think I can upload them here.

In any case, it's been exciting so far.

God Bless!

So, how was you time in Japan?

I know Kenton, and a lot of the other OMF people in Japan.

Lets keep in touch.
